Volunteer Opportunities

Any non-profit organization is very dependent on volunteers.  The First Tee of Greater Kansas City is no exception.  Volunteers help us raise money, create mailings, work with the kids and a variety of other tasks.  We simply could not do what we do without volunteers.

Our volunteers fall into four general categories: Fundraising, Operations, Communications and Programming.

Fundraising volunteers can help us raise money, but we also need volunteers to help us on days of our fundraising events.

Operations volunteers help us with special projects at the programming sites and at the Chapter Office.

Programming volunteerswork with kids and help coaches administer and deliver The First Tee Life Skills Experience.

Communications volunteers help with our website, annual report and other projects.

So thank you for taking the time to investigate volunteer opportunites with The First Tee of Greater Kansas City.  Please read the volunteer descriptions above by clicking on the title for each type of volunteer.  If you find something that interests you, contact our Executive Director, Pat Zuk at 913.648.7177, ext. 1 or by e-mail at pzuk@thefirstteekc.org.

The First Tee of Greater Kansas City Mentoring Program

Another way to get involved with The First Tee of Greater Kansas City is to become a mentor. The goal of our mentor program is to give each participant a positive role model to look up to and confide in throughout the year and to create a bigger circle of influence for our students. As a mentor you can experience the thrill of making a difference in a child’s life through the game of golf, share new things, and help them to develop new skills. Overtime you will be able to see how your mentee is succeeding personally, athletically, and academically. You, in turn, will be part of a very rewarding and mutually beneficial friendship.

We are always accepting applications for new mentors & mentees. The Mentoring program traditionally meets on Tuesdays from 530-730pm, twice a month April through September and once a month October through March. This year we will start the mentor program on Tuesday, April 9th and will proceed every other Tuesday until October.

Please contact Ellen Fisher at efisher@thefirstteekc.org or 913-648-7177, ext. 3 if you are interested in becoming a First Tee of Greater Kansas City Mentor or Mentee. Please click here for the mentor application. Please click here for the mentee application.
